Internet portal and forum on acoustic neuroma brain tumours
• Helping people to help themselves
• Transnational
• Open to all
The Acoustic Neuroma Interest Group (IGAN) Medical Advisory Board is currently a committee of specialists in neurosurgery and ENT surgery who are highly skilled in acoustic neuroma matters and are available to IGAN and all acoustic neuroma patients to provide advice and support.
The members of the Medical Board have a lot and even exceptional experience in skull base surgery, particularly acoustic neuroma operations, they have the most modern technology and experienced teams, and as such achieve success in the treatment they offer.
The members of the Board can be consulted, should you wish for a second opinion when deciding on a course of treatment.
Personal enquiries and contact can be made using the contact details. We recommend that you assemble a concise anamnesis (medical history), noted in a comprehensive manner and with all the available findings, particularly the most recent MRT. You can find out the way and when to provide this information to the doctor when making the appointment - usually with the secretary.
For yourself personally you should put together a question sheet.
We also recommend that you look at the clinics' websites before contacting them regarding a second opinion or treatment, to be well prepared for the consultation so that you can concentrate on the discussion.
The IGAN Website and the forum offer a lot of information regarding preparation in the run up to the consultation by clarifying general questions.
The Acoustic Neuroma Interest Group (IGAN) expressly states that the list of members of the Medical Advisory Board is not a complete list of all doctors, who can provide competent information on acoustic neuroma, and it does not present in any way an express recommendation for you to solely be treated there. The order of the specialist fields and the personal names in the list does not represent any ranking.
